On Saturday, 30 January, 2010, LAWS held its second Adoption Open House at the LAWS Shelter. Although the rain made the kennels muddy quite a few families came to see the animals. Thanks to LAWS members Claudia, Siobhan and Gilly for running the show and assisted 6 dogs in finding new homes. Thanks also to LAWS members Fiona, Diep and Chrys for managing the LAWS stand at the Dutch Reformed Church Saturday Crafts Market on the same day, where 4 kittens and 1 adult cat found new homes. Read more about the animals that were adopted in the February 2010 newsletter! Please we still have too many cats, kittens, dogs and puppies available for adoption, so call us if you can offer any of them a home.

At the end of September, LAWS carried out its 5th Free Rabies Vaccination Campaign and first-ever Mobile Vet Clinic at Chunga Compound. All the excitement was caught on film as part 6 of 10 of a documentary series following Dr. Luke Gamble of the Worldwide Veterinary Service, due to be aired early next year on the UK’s Sky1 and SkyHD. More than 600 dogs were dipped, dewormed, and medically treated, and 779 dogs vaccinated against rabies free-of-charge. Click here to read more about this campaign.
